Brain Debugger

Using speech to monitor bipolar depression.

Brain Debugger is still very early-process. The idea is a wearable which records the wearer's voice, does some basic processing, and then throws away the original data. What it keeps are a general sense of "pressured speech" (a known marker of a hypomanic state in people with bipolar), and the overall ammount that the wearer is speaking, as a proxy for how much they are socially withdrawing, a common symptom of depressive states. It would ideally interface with both a tool for the wearer to understand what trends the device has noticed, and a SAD lamp, because light exposure can have an impact on bipolar cycles.
